I am thrilled to announce that Vista do Douro, my design for a classic Portuguese apartment building, is finally coming to Upland! It’s been an incredible journey, and I am over the moon that my design was chosen in the final competition phase. After two phases where my plans ended up as runner up, it feels so good to finally be able to say that I made it!
I can’t express enough how excited I am to bring the first user-made structure in Europe to Upland, especially in a city that holds such incredible memories for me. I’ve spent time in Porto and experienced its beauty firsthand, so to be able to bring a piece of that to Upland is truly an honor.
The building is slightly more narrow than an apartment building, but stretches a bit further to the back. Lot’s of windows and balconies for the view over the river, and don’t forget to check out the garage doors in the back. The roof includes the shingle pattern, and will be able to get different colours once you can build it. Same goes for the “stone” texture, which in my example shows up white, but is a customizable layer as well and will still have the lines and shades you see on it now.
Thanks to everyone who voted and supported me throughout this competition. And to all those fierce competitors out there! It was such a close call, and I’ve seen some amazing design work from players who will surely beat my ass the next competition.
